La Paz (pronounced [la ˈpas], English: Peace) is the capital city of the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. It´s the smallest Mexican Capital, and one of the three costal capitals of the country.

Visitors have taken a great love for its calm and pristine beaches, and love to explore the amazing natural landscape of the region; 244 of the nearly 900 islands in the Gulf of California are now under UNESCO protection as World Heritage Bio-Reserves.
